About POCJOY
POCJOY is an etheric space founded by Sofía Beltrán where creatives of color and their allies can be honored and safely anchored into the present reality of their own creation.
Our joy is in each of our hands and we are responsible for and capable of creating that which has never existed before. This is a co-creative space of profound healing, where one can be witnessed as their full self and truly seen, free from shame or fear, and safely expand into their widest spectrum of potential.
Your power will never be taken away, but rather lovingly handed back to you and affirmed. This is the new model of embodied leadership.
Welcome to the future.
About Sofía
Sofía Beltrán is a proud first generation Colombian/Venezuelan American driven by her lifelong passion of creating a sustainable, equitable, joy-driven future for all marginalized people. This passion led her into the world of holistic healing, specifically breathwork, as a powerful tool for clearing the nervous system from anxiety, trauma, depression, fear, and emotional blocks. After experiencing and learning to heal from poverty, abuse, housing and food insecurity, health issues, and many other embodied traumas not uncommon to other diasporic POC and marginalized individuals, Sofía believes that all of us have the capacity to successfully engage in self-heal, to fully experience joy, to clearly hear our intuition, and to exist mindfully in the present moment as sovereign beings. By clearing out all that which is not us and fully tuning in to our authentic heart frequencies we can offer the world our unique talents and voice, all of which are necessary for our collective joy, healing and expansion.
Sofía has spent the last several years working in the Hollywood entertainment space providing legal, finance and business affairs expertise to creatives of color and working for global corporations including adidas, The Walt Disney Company and the National Football League. She recently served as a Board Member of the Los Angeles Community Garden Council. Sofía is the former Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer of SmartAg Technologies, Inc., an agricultural technology start-up company which created hardware and software for monitoring and treating beehive health conditions in commercial farm settings. She is a graduate of UCLA School of Law with a specialization in Entertainment, Media and Intellectual Property Law from the Ziffren Center. She was named a UCLA Global Food Initiative Fellow by the University of California Office of the President and served as a research fellow for the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Food Security. Prior to attending law school Sofía served as a bilingual public school educator, tried her hand as a farmer, and worked in technical sales in the start-up tech space.
In her spare time Sofía serves as a guest lecturer and panelist in the holistic wellness, sports, entertainment, technology, legal and education spaces, mentors law students of color around the U.S., and volunteers in providing nutritious, plant-based food to low-income neighborhoods. Her hobbies include dance, singing, photography, hiking, writing, cooking, organic farming, yoga, and traveling around our beautiful planet.
